Update

I am happy to say that we were pretty much in and out of clinic yesterday - which is rare! His ANC is 1250 and his ears look great! We are still waiting to hear back from ENT about a date as to when they are going to put the tubes in. I felt much better about our trip after hearing that his ears look good and his labs were fantastic. So just to be safe Nancy and I went through his antibiotic kit to make sure that we had everything and that nothing had expired so we can take that with us just in case. But hopefully we'll get through our trip with out any hospital stays. Of course I'm nervous, but I do feel better after yesterday. So once again he started his monthly steroid pulse, so far so good.

We have other big boy news as well. Most of you remember that we were having trouble getting Donavynn to sleep in his own bed. Well I decided that it really wasn't worth the fight during the semester because as far as I'm concerned as long as everyone is getting sleep it doesn't really matter, and during school months, mommy needs her sleep. lol Another reason was that he had dealt with a lot this semester - 2 infections meaning 2 stays in the hosptial and 2 weeks of being home with his port accessed. So we just told him that the day after his birthday he goes back in his own bed. Then I went to iTunes and burned him so music from blues clues, spongebob, etc and told him that he could listen to it in his own bed. And wouldn't you know we haven't had a single problem! He has been in his own bed now for 4 nights. We also decided that now was a good time to get rid of the pull ups at night. Accidents aren't usually a problem at night but when he was sleeping in with me, I didn't want to risk it. lol And so far that is going good too! He is getting so big so fast! And is very proud of his accomplishments. I am hoping to have time to upload all the recent pictures today... but we'll see. Ok got lots to do, just wanted to give an update.

Quick Note

I am so so sorry that I haven't updated in so long. Things have been crazy busy here. Last weekend we did a ton of yard work - it looks great now, BTW. And then I was studying for finals. Donavynn has been doing great. I de-accessed him and he has been eating well and acting great since he got home. They wanted his counts checked again because they were so high before w/ the infection so we did that yesterday - his ANC was 977 - so just about where we want it to be.

Today was his (and my) last day of school. So we are both officially on summer vacation! We are so very excited! And we are so looking forward to our trip in a few weeks! The time just can't pass quickly enough - but I know that it will be here in no time! The weeks seem to pass quicker the older you get! I guess when you want it to slow down it zips by. BTW I managed to get straight A's for my first time this semester! So I am very happy with that, as was my wonderful hubby! He has been so supportive and helpful this semester! It has been really rough on all of us, but just like everything else we pulled through it together - as a team!

Not to much going on here now that we are done with school. Looking forward to the weekend - A friend of mine is going to be coming over with her kids and Donavynn is looking forward to having other kids to play with. So it should be fun provided it stops raining. Can't complain to much seen as how it has been absolutely beautiful for the last week or so! Well it isn't getting any earlier so I should hit the sack. I just wanted to let everyone know that he is doing great! And as always he continues to make us proud every day!!!

I will update again when there is more to tell.
